Jacob Rogers is an award-winning filmmaker with a dual passion for amplifying First Nations voices through storytelling and supporting research initiatives. He leverages over 10 years of experience in film and video production, excelling in all aspects – from concept development to distribution. His work has garnered recognition on major platforms like Netflix, CBC, PBS, and APTN.

Jacob's Story

Currently, Jacob plays a pivotal role as a Research Coordinator at the University of Toronto. Here, he utilizes his filmmaking background to contribute to data collection and analysis, ensuring a comprehensive approach to research projects. He also manages logistics, communication, and participant engagement.

Prior to his current role, Jacob led the Kiijig Collective as Producer & Director. During his tenure, he spearheaded impactful documentaries focusing on First Nations issues in Canada. His expertise encompasses securing funding, managing budgets, and fostering strong relationships with Indigenous communities to ensure respectful and authentic storytelling.
